What Parents Should Know

Dear Arts in Education Director,
Thank you for all that you do for the kids through the Arts in Education program. My son was a “trouble-behavior” type boy. After participating in a Theater and Music Residency with a Directory Artist my son has changed tremendously. He used to be very shy-now he is more outgoing. A couple of years ago he was in a play and the minute he saw the audience, he froze. This year, through your program, he was excellent in his role as Beowulf! I was so shocked and pleased. I just can’t believe the change in my son!!! I hope the artists can come back for more residencies. The program teaches responsibility and a sense of community.

New Grants Now Available!

Erie Arts Endowment grants have been replaced by new Arts Council of Erie Project grants. Applications will only be accepted once a year. Deadline for submission is August 31, 2007!

There will be no August 15 Endowment grant cycle, and grant applications will no longer be accepted in February.
